Pray

Think and pray about how a site could enhance your efforts. Put it out to your staff, congregation, or key supporters. Every website has tremendous potential. Take the time to talk with God. Take notes on what you'd like your site to be. What makes your ministry unique? How can you best serve those who visit your site?

Do some research

Review our pages for churches, missionaries and other Christian ministries and dream what your site could be. Check out our Great tips for any website for more ideas. Evaluate websites you like; what is appealing about them? Ask friends who have sites what they've learned. Begin to develop a vision, keeping in mind the resources available to you (especially the inspiration required to regularly add compelling content). Consider your three audiences and ask yourself how you can best serve each group.

Determine your vision and set measurable goals

As you begin to develop a vision for your GoGrow site, also begin to set some measurable goals. For some, it may be as simple as having an online presence. For others, it may be a good search engine ranking, vibrant online community, an increase in weekly attendance or greater financial giving. Very few organizations (Christian or not) ever take the time to reflect after the site is launched. A website is nothing more than a tool, and like any purchase, needs to be regularly evaluated. A great time to evaluate success is before you begin development. What will determine the success or failure of your site?
