Calendars are a great way to quickly view upcoming events. However, calendars don't work so well for ministries that have less than at least several events a week. GoGrow is happy to generate a list until your ministry's activities warrant a calendar display. Let us know which will work best for you, when your volume outgrows your list, we'll switch to a calendar display for no cost. Either way, your content is clearly displayed and lets your people know when things are happening.

We all know a picture is worth 1000 words, but 1000 words will display much more quickly. Have you ever had to sit and wait, wait, wait for your browser to display an image? Your new GoGrow site is smart enough to automatically resize your photos so they will load quickly. Plus, we have a nifty way of assigning photos to galleries to help keep everything easy to find.
Every GoGrow site will accept embed code provided by popular third-party video sharing sites and play the video on your site. We introduce this option as it is a quick and inexpensive way of getting your video online. If you have specific needs and would like to restrict access, sell content, or otherwise control the source, we can assess your needs and discuss the options involved with hosting and displaying video content locally.
Blogs (shortened from web log) are a great way to make important announcements, discuss issues, or share information related to your ministry. Comments let folks interact and ask questions. Every GoGrow site allows a dynamic exchange of information and ideas to easily happen, this is the key to online communication.
Forums are likely the best way to foster online community. A forum will give every user (who has the appropriate permission) the ability to start a discussion (or thread) on your site. The problem is, forums usually don't work well until there are about 100 active users. At GoGrow, we'll be happy to help you assess if a forum will be a good fit for your ministry. If you don't have a large community, but have a compelling reason why you'd like to take a shot running one anyway, just ask. We'll install one for you at no additional cost.
The key to every site is the regular posting of quality content. We at GoGrow understand that with so many other responsibilities, it's hard to get around to the website sometimes. However, every GoGrow site lets you schedule your content for publication and removal. Would you like to write five blog posts all at once and publish them once a week? How about posting a weekly bulletin every Thursday and have it automatically go live on Sunday morning? What about a clue-a-day treasure hunt for kids? Let the site take care of scheduled content.
Uploading sermon audio files is a great thing to do and easily handled by your GoGrow site. But if you want to podcast, your content will need to be syndicated, which will allow it to automatically appear for people who choose to subscribe. Evey GoGrow site automatically creates the RSS feed you'll need. We'll also help you get listed in iTunes. We've also got an audio player we can install on your site. Folks will be able to play content and, if you'd like, download the file.
Public or Private Groups (GoGrow calls them Ministries) allow you to section part of your site content to make it easy for your users to find. Want a Jr. High group? How about one for Women's Ministries, or leaders? It helps members quickly locate the information they are seeking. Groups can be made private to hide confidential information. Also, each group has its own mailing list to make contacting members quick and easy.
The days of being out of the office and unable to check e-mail are long behind us. Any computer (or smart phone) with an internet connection can send and receive your GoGrow e-mail. Because each GoGrow site has up to 99 e-mail accounts, you'll have plenty for every staff member, department and volunteer.
[somewebsite].org/pages/page.asp?page_id=12174? Yuk! GoGrow perfers "Clean URLs" which automatically alias your URL with something that makes sense. Which means if you write a blog post titled "Love Thy Neighbor" you're going to automatically get a URL like [yoursite].org/blog/love-thy-neighbor.
There are two reasons for this: Search engines prefer clean URLs. People do too. Some people in your church may have serious issues they are not comfortable revealing even to their pastor. Anonymous dialogue will allow them to look to the church for answers without the potential embarrassment they may feel when revealing a difficult situation. We've partnered with , a web service which recognizes quality content and also identifies SPAM. Or, if your ministry is unlikely to engage in counseling, GoGrow can limit comments and posts to registered users or only staff. GoGorw can craft our platform to best suit your church or ministry's needs.
Why spend time and resources printing, stuffing and mailing paper newsletters? Your GoGrow site will not only send your updates, it will allow users to subscribe and unsubscribe themselves, saving you administration time.
We've created a step by step guide which clearly explains how to add, modify or delete content, users, and menu items. Should something still not make sense, we at GoGrow are here to help you get through any snags you may encounter.
Truthfully, we think our documentation is quite good. However, for some folks, it works best to have someone onsite while learning a new system. We'll be happy to come to your church or ministry headquarters and train your team to best use your GoGrow site. Please see the "One time setup charge" tab on the How much does all this cost? page.
We at GoGrow realize not everyone is a geek. We also understand very few ministers have the time or interest to figure out how to maintain a website. Most people use a search engine, like Google, Bing, Yahoo!, Ask, and others, to find sites for the first time. Unfortunately, sites won't appear in searches until they have been found and indexed. However, each GoGrow site automatically generates and submits a sitemap to these engines. They like it because it simplifies their job. We like it because it automatically pushes your newest content to the most popular engines. It also tells the engine which of your content is the most important. This helps your site's SEO and contributes to strong search results which makes it easier for real people to find you.
There is no point in wasting toner! Every GoGrow site will automatically generate printer friendly pages to save your ink. Each site has the ability to e-mail or generate a .PDF of each and every page you create. The easier it is, the more likely your visitors will share the content on your site.
A website, any website, is nothing more than a tool which will help you communicate. Every GoGrow site comes with a contact form which makes it easy for anyone to e-mail people or departments in your ministry. However, a contact form, unlike an e-mail link, can't be scraped by a trolling bot who only wants to send you spam. Your e-mail remains hidden untll you choose to respond to a message you have received. We've got a few more tricks up our sleeve including CAPTCHA and Mollom to further reduce the amount of SPAM you receive. Also, people who are using computers which are not their own (like at an airpot kiosk) may have difficulty sending e-mail if you provide a link but with our contact form, it's easy for them no matter where they are.
PDFs are a great way to simply transfer printed material to the web. Your weekly bulletins, sermon/Bible study notes, meeting minutes, handbooks, newsletters, and forms. With very little effort, you can easily post this content to your GoGrow site, saving your staff time and printing changes while saving people an extra trip just to pick up a single document.
GoGrow understands you are busy and taking on the job of maintaining a website can be adding yet another task to an already burdened schedule. That's why every GoGrow site comes with a role-based permission system whcih gives you the ability to delegate administration tasks. Any number of trusted users can be given additional permission to add, edit, delete and restore. By distributing the workload, site quality improves.
Comments are a great way to let your users interact in a regulated way. It's simple to enable or disable commenting on your GoGorw site based on the needs of your ministry and the type of content you are posting.
